Firefly Berries offers many varieties of jam and jelly, as well as 100% Concord grape juice, all canned to last at least a year in your cupboard, or up to two weeks in your refrigerator once opened. At this time, these products are only available for local pick up.
Fresh Produce
From strawberries to grapes to herbs, if you’re looking for fresh produce that we grow on our farm, this is your place to look. All fresh produce is only available for Saturday morning curbside pick up. We do not ship fresh produce.
Yarn
Berry Fun Yarns are dyed naturally, without the use of toxic chemicals. The colors are coaxed out of the beautiful plants and flowers (or even coffee that Grandpa drinks!) that fill the fields of Firefly Berries. We do purchase a small amount (less than 10%) of our dyestuff or natural extracts from trusted U.S. dyestuff companies, as there are a few colors that are we are unable to grow in Minnesota. Dyeing yarn naturally is different than using acid dyes in many ways, but the most striking to the dyer is that naturally dyed yarns are highly sensitive to the pH of the water used both in the dyeing and washing process. A slight change in the pH of the water can yield an entirely different color. Because of this, we recommend handwashing all Berry Fun Yarn in cool or tepid water with a pH neutral soap like Eucalan. Once we dye the yarn, we do wash every hank to assure the dye has both set and is easy for the customer to work with. We also recommend storing your yarn and finished products out of direct sunlight.

Lace
A superfine yarn that is great for lace work. Great for projects that wish to evoke an ethereal or floaty feeling. Laceweight mohair or silk is also wonderful when held double with another yarn to create extra warmth and texture. Most commonly used with size US 000-US 1 (1.5-2.25 mm) knitting needles or a 1.4-2.25 mm crochet hook.
Mohair Silk Lace
This delicate laceweight yarn is made from both soft kid mohair and shiny mulberry silk. It is perfect for lightweight shawls or for using held double with another yarn to create a fabric with a soft halo. 72% Kid Mohair – 28% Silk 459 yards – 50 grams
Fingering
Fingering weight yarn is often used for baby items, socks, shawls, and other lightweight accessories and garments. It is approximately twice the weight of a lace yarn, and is typically knit using a US size 1-3 (2.25-3.25 mm) knitting needle or a size B-1 to E-3 (2.25-3.5 mm) crochet hook.
Angel Fingering
One of the most luxurious and decadent bases you’ll ever find. Perfect for shawls and anything close to your skin. 60% Baby Alpaca – 20% Silk – 10% Cashmere 100 grams – 437 yards
Berry Tough Sock
80% Superwash Merino/20% Nylon – 100 grams – 400 yards This high twist 2-ply sock yarn will have your feet and body singing! The softness of Merino, coupled with the strength of a high twist and nylon, plump up when dyed and make this a perfect yarn for any fingering weight project.
Berry Tough Sparkle
This high twist, fingering weight yarn sparkles with beauty from the stellina that is woven into the plies. Stellina, a non-metal, silver-toned fiber, makes this yarn a delight to knit with and to wear. 75% Superwash Merino – 25% Nylon – 5% Silver Stellina 438 yards – 100 grams
Eco Printed Sock Blanks
Sock blanks offer a unique and fun way to knit a sock. Simply unravel the blank and start knitting! No winding involved. Each of these sock blanks are one of a kind, and involve a process called eco printing. This is where I directly place the flowers and plant materials on the knitted fabric and then steam them to encourage the dyes to release from the plants. All dyes are permanently set. Check out our YouTube channel for a video to see how it is done! Each blank is fingering weight yarn, 463 yards, 100 grams. 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon
Suri Fluff Fingering
A beautifully soft and cozy fingering weight yarn. 100% Suri Alpaca 100 grams – 437 yards
Yak Sock
Yak = More warmth and more luxury! This decadent base is in the fingering weight (437 yards/100 grams) with fiber content of 70% Superwash Merino/20% Yak/10% Nylon
Mini Skeins
For those who can’t decide on one color, or who are working on a multicolored or scrappy project, these smaller mini skeins are perfect. They come in either 10 or 20 gram sizes, as well as multiple bases.
Sport/DK
Sport is slightly heavier in weight than fingering and DK stands for double knitting weight. This category of yarn is a great middle of the road weight, perfect for all projects from hats and mittens to baby items and even garments. Most commonly used with size US 5-7 (3.75-4.5 mm) knitting needles or a size 7 to I9 (4.5-5.5 mm) crochet hook.
Allstar DK
If you are looking for a versatile weight of yarn that knits up a bit faster than fingering, than look no further! This 4-ply plump, soft yarn is great for sweaters, shawls, hats, or any type of clothing. Also great for those who like thicker socks or a shawl with a little more warmth. Great drape when knitted up! 100% Superwash Merino – 115 grams – 250 yards
Berry Tough Sport
The sport weight version of the Berry Tough Sock base, this yarn falls between fingering and DK weights. It is a wonderful option for knitting garments like scarves and hats, as well as for tops, sweaters or baby clothes. 80% Superwash Merino – 20% Nylon 3ply yarn 328 yards – 100 grams
DK Tweed
This unique yarn gives a nod to the original Irish Tweed woven cloth of the same name. A neutral superwash merino background with bits of color woven into the plies, this yarn takes color beautifully, and the effect is both tactile and visually appealing. 85% Superwash Merino 15% Donegal Nep (a dye-resistant nylon fiber) 4ply yarn 231 yards – 100grams
Yak Silk DK
A beautifully shiny, soft and drapey base. 60% Superwash Merino – 20% Yak – 20% Silk 231 yards – 100 grams
Worsted/Aran
Worsted/Aran are the two thickest yarn bases that I currently carry. Both weights fall into the medium weight “4” category as given by the Yarn Council and are great for a multitude of warmer projects from hats to mittens to garments and blankets. Gauge would generally be 16-20 stitches over 4 inches with the use of US 7-9 needles or a crochet hook size I-K.
American Worsted
A beautifully bouncy 100% American grown and spun worsted weight non-superwash Merino/Rambouillet blend of wool. 100 grams – 217 yards
BFL Aran
A beautifully soft two ply Bluefaced Leicester Aran weight wool. 100% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester 181 yards – 100 grams
