I am not one to work with super bulky yarn much, but sometimes a quick, cozy knit is just what is needed. Whether a big snowstorm is scheduled to arrive shortly and your teenager has lost the cowl you made them last year, or you need a quick gift for a teacher or loved one, this textured cowl is a great option for both an enjoyable knit and a beautiful finished object.
This cowl is created using a single strand of Super Bulky yarn. If you don’t have a yarn this bulky in your stash, consider holding four strands of worsted or three strands of aran weight together to get the same gauge and look –perfect for busting those small amounts you have lingering in your stash!
This pattern is simple with knits, purls, and my version of the knot stitch used throughout. If you have a free afternoon or evening, you have time to create one of these warm and cozy cowls!
Cowl is knit with one skein of Berry Fun Yarns Super Bulky Merino using a US 15 (10 mm) 16 inch circular needle. Gauge is eight stitches and 12 rows over four inches of stockinette stitch using the recommended needle.
Finished measurements of the cowl are five inches tall and 24 inches in circumference.
