The Rodeo Sweetheart Hat is the third and final pattern in the Heartland Hat Collection. Inspired by the character of Jade in the CBC Series, Heartland, this hat features a lace pattern that is feminine but not delicate, much like the bronc-riding Jade is in the series.
Created using either a single strand of DK weight or two strands of fingering weight yarn held together, this pattern features yarn overs combined with knit stitches and offers a lacy feel while still producing a sturdy and warm hat. Although you can cast on using any method you prefer, I recommend a long tail tubular cast on to give the design a polished look.

*The pattern is available in three sizes to fit a head circumference of 18-23 inches.
*Gauge is 22 stitches and 28 rows over 4 inches in the two row repeat, blocked but not stretched.
*Suggested needle size is a US 3 (3.25 mm) for the ribbing and US 5 (3.75 mm) for the main portion of the hat.
